Mark Lodge

Supporting Information

Hi, I’m Mark Lodge — a UK-based composer, producer, and sound designer with over two decades of experience spanning hip-hop, soul, electronic, and cinematic music. I come from a background in live performance, playing guitar and keys, and over the years I’ve worked with artists including Omar, Kel Spencer, Duck Down Records, P Money, and Promise. I also served as musical director for BBC 1Xtra’s Maida Vale sessions, where I arranged and led live studio performances that blended traditional musicianship with modern production techniques. Over the past few years, I’ve moved into sound design and sample creation, producing a wide range of white-label packs for BandLab, covering genres such as Latin Trap, Latin Horns, Disco Strings, 90s Grunge, Boom Bap, Keith-style Hip Hop, and 80s Synth Dreamscapes. Many of these have gone on to become top downloaded packs on the platform. Three of my sound design releases — Silky Neo Soul, Ebow Textures, and Orchestral Stabs & Textures — were featured in MusicTech Magazine as some of the best free sound packs for film composers, with praise for their emotional depth, cinematic texture, and versatility. My “West Coast Hip Hop” pack for Loopmasters brings together live guitar, piano, strings, and G-Funk synths to capture that early 2000s cinematic West Coast sound, all recorded and performed by me. Since moving into this space, I’ve been slowly building my production music catalogue, with a few tracks already signed to a label in New York, and full albums currently in development. I’m also working on a new project called Lost Instruments — a virtual instrument collection exploring rare, ancient, and hybrid timbres, generative textures, and immersive spatial audio, designed for composers working across film, games, and interactive experiences. My focus is always on creating music and sound that’s rich with character, rooted in performance, and designed to connect emotionally — whether through sample packs, production music, or immersive composition.
