I am a Japanese pianist and composer based in London, known for my lyrical touch, harmonic depth, and cross-cultural approach to classical composition. My latest album “Ko-da-ma” features original works for solo piano, piano trio, and four hands — some recorded using Steinway’s Spirio technology. It blends acoustic intimacy with poetic structure, drawing on themes of nature, memory, and silence.
Alongside the music, I created a multilingual poetry book (Japanese, English, Catalan, Spanish) that traces the emotional and conceptual landscape behind each piece. This book — with QR codes for WAV downloads — forms a central part of the project, offering listeners a deeper and more immersive connection with the work.
I would be honoured to be considered for the Composer Spotlight Award, as “Ko-da-ma” reflects a pivotal moment in my creative journey: uniting composition, performance, and written word into a cohesive, genre-defying experience rooted in both tradition and innovation.
