Hello, I hope you are all well. My name is Kyetoba. I am one of 10 composers in the country in the First Artists Management’s Composer’s Assistant Mentorship Programme cohort for 2024/2025, I was also finalist for the Film Sync Awards 2025, have numerous film score releases set for 2025, inluding with Screen Scotland. This year I graduated with a Master’s of Music – Composition for Film and TV with Distinction, coming top of my course and winning the Kingston Arts Prize. I would love to be considered for this award because just over 2 years ago I made the daunting decision to quit my job and follow my dream of being a media composer and am already making a name for myself despite graduating in Janurary. My full show reel is available on my Reel Crafter profile, however, I have chosen to keep it short and sweet by submitting my latest work – my new EP entitled “MECH ON, Epic Battles Vol. 1”, including an internationally award nominated track. This diverse EP is crafted with Film, TV and videogames at it’s heart. I had a big hand in mixing and mastering the tracks and, as always, I also did all of my own artwork. I attribute my passion for composition to a defining moment at 5 years old. I found myself stargazing. I became captivated by the notion of being an astronaut, suspended amidst such beauty. At 17 I realised only through film scores I relived that childhood sense of awe. Thus deciding, my purpose in life was to recreate that profound moment for others.
