Jessica Rose Weiss

Jessica is part of the next generation of composers redefining the sound of modern cinema and television. Her music blends the emotional depth of orchestral storytelling with the texture of electronic and folk influences, creating a style that’s both cinematic and deeply human.

Jessica’s love of music began in her youth while studying ballet and theatre in New York City, eventually leading her to Warner Bros. Studios in London, where she was recruited by Hans Zimmer to apprentice at Remote Control Productions. After honing her craft as a music editor and additional composer, she found a pivotal mentorship under Academy Award–winning composer Mychael Danna.

An alumna of the Universal/DreamWorks Composers Initiative and a proud member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, Jessica has had her music performed on stages around the world — from The Globe Theatre in London to The Joffrey Ballet in Chicago to The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles.

Jessica Roch

Jessica Roch is a London-based composer, solo artist and session musician whose solo work blurs the lines between ambient, classical, electronic and experimental.

Her recent composition ‘Pandemonium: Music for Parakeets’, created for an exhibition at London’s Design Museum, was performed live to a parakeet and human audience, pressed to vinyl and featured in Classical Music Magazine.

A classically-trained violinist and pianist, her solo work juxtaposes a variety of genres, regularly blending ambient/electronic textures with the subtleties of minimalism, jazz, experimental, folk and more. Her most recent solo single ‘Sixteen Fifty-Two’ (Moderna Records) was featured at No. 3 on Apple Music’s Classical Edge playlist and received airplay on stations around the world including BBC 6 Music and KEXP.

She has written music for a variety of films and other media and her upcoming projects include scoring a new narrative feature film and her first game soundtrack.

Tell me more...

This category intends to lift up the work of composers who are in the early stages of their production music careers, regardless of age or prior experience in other fields of music composition.

The Awards want to highlight the work of these Composers and open the door to building relationships with production music libraries.

The Production Music Awards celebrates the best library and production music creators and curators. We’ve been bringing creative people together in our industry since 2015 with our awards ceremony which takes place in London.

Each of the five winners will receive:

– A complimentary ticket to the awards ceremony, including seated dinner and drinks valued at £245 (travel and accommodation not included)

– A Production Music Awards trophy

– A feature published on the Production Music Awards website and social media platforms

– Introductions to key members at leading production music libraries

The Spotlight Award is open to emerging composers (over 18) working in production music.
You are eligible if you are either unpublished, or have had your first release with a production music library within two years of the awards ceremony date (14 November 2025).

Composers should submit a link to a publicly accessible portfolio of your work (e.g. your website, SoundCloud, YouTube etc). A short written profile about you as a composer should also be included.

There is a fee of £25 to enter this category.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals from production music libraries. A shortlist will be announced in advance of the ceremony, followed by the announcement of five winners. Judging will take into account the originality and creative potential demonstrated in the portfolio and accompanying written statement.
